214 days until I reach 60.
I volunteer with a group called Fairy Tale Endings, a non profit organization started here in Cherokee County by Lindsey Ferguson-Haas. We are almost through our first prom season. Anyone who hasn't had a teen dress for a big dance lately may be shocked to find the costs involved!
Fairy Tale Ending volunteers help young women get ready for big dances. Each girl has a volunteer who helps her through the entire process from choosing a dress, shoes and jewelry, to making a fitting appointment with me (I volunteered to alter and hem the dresses for the girls), to making appointments for hair and makeup.
Some days I wish I could work with one girl through the process, but then I get hugs from all the girls...not just one.
While prom season is almost over, we will be working towards fall and Home Comming and Millitary Ball season.
We are having our 1st BIG DREAM DRESS DRIVE, hosted by Town Center Mall on April 22-23, 2011. Please come see us and donate your gowns and fancy dresses!
